Jonathan Kaufman is co-founder & Principal of Third Plateau, a San Francisco-based social impact consulting firm. In this role, Jonathan collaborates with charter schools, CMOs, community nonprofits, philanthropists, and social entrepreneurs all over the world, helping them expand and deepen their impact. He specializes in board development, strategic planning, program design, and community and millennial engagement.
Jonathan currently serves on the Board of Directors at Amir Project and on the Advisory Board at Resonate. He formerly sat on the Board of Directors at Good Shepherd Children and Family Services; Giving Circles Fund; and the Alumni Board at Education Pioneers.
Matt Kowitt is a parent of three learners who have attended SCCLC since 2004. He has been a member of the school's governing board since 2008, and chaired that board for the past five years.
Professionally, Matt is a project manager in R&D at Stanford Research Systems, where he has lead product development teams for multiple Test & Measurement instrumentation products. Prior to that, he worked as a researcher with NASA studying the cosmic microwave background using high-altitude balloons. Matt holds an S.B. in Physics from M.I.T., and a Ph.D. in Physics from U.C. Berkeley.
Peter is an experienced manager and entrepreneur in the education and arts fields. He has managed a performing arts education organization, worked as a product manager at a corporate e-learning venture, and founded an online arts education company. He was a co-founder of Urban Montessori in Oakland, a K-8 charter school that combines Montessori, Design Thinking and arts integration.
Peter holds an MBA, MA Ed, and Certificate of Public Management from Stanford University and a BA from Yale.
