Accountability discussions center on capturing your school's success across multiple categories. Learn to make your charter shine with authorizers, funders and stakeholders by establishing concrete, quantifiable measures of student progress.

Full Description:
Are you collecting the necessary information to provide proof of achievement and success? Discussions of accountability, from the Local Control Accountability Plan to renewal requirements to new accountability models, all center around capturing your school's success across multiple categories. The goal is to make your charter shine with authorizers, funders and other stakeholders. We will discuss using your charter’s goals to establish concrete, quantifiable measures of student progress and explore alternative measures to state test scores.

Jayna Gaskell has worked in education for the last 29 years. Gaskell holds a Masters degree in secondary education from Emory University. In 1998 Gaskell co-founded and directed a California public charter school for five years. Gaskell has presented multiple statewide workshops with statewide educational agencies throughout California. Gaskell has worked with charter schools as a consultant on a wide range of topics in Fl, TN, OR and AZ. Ms. Gaskell is the Executive Director for Pivot Charter Schools and has served in this capacity since 2010. Roads Education operates a network of four successful public charter schools in CA.

Annice Weinstein Annice Weinstein, EdTec, Inc.

In her role with EdTec, Annice has been assisting charter schools with analyzing and presenting their achievement data for renewals, WASC and grant proposals for over 10 years. She also has expertise in the development and implementation of assessment systems for schools. Prior to joining EdTec, Annice managed Kaplan K12's student assessment system, and developed curriculum for LeapFrog SchoolHouse and Computer Curriculum Corporation.
