Learn how to achieve your goals by strategically prioritizing and managing your budget while leveraging accountability requirements. Presenters will share case studies of budgeting approaches and tools.

Achieve your educational program goals by strategically prioritizing and managing your budget. We will address strategies for sustainability and how to leverage accountability requirements early in the budgeting process while budgeting to achieve your mission. Educational and financial leaders will walk through a priority-setting process to address government regulations and still remain creative to ensure that the mission and desired outcomes of the organization are met to achieve educational equity.

Tammy Stanton Tammy Stanton, ExED

Tammy Stanton joined ExED in 2006, just after she had become a founding parent and treasurer of Ocean Charter School. Today, Tammy oversees the business operations for select charter school clients such as Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, Gabriella Charter School, New West Charter School, and oversees ExED’s training and consulting work. She teaches graduate level courses at the Loyola Marymount University School of Education, and regularly conducts trainings and conference sessions regarding charter finance, human resources and board responsibilities. Tammy holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Antioch University.


Larry Tamayo Larry Tamayo, ExED

Larry Tamayo leads the San Diego office, having joined ExED in 2002. In addition to his supervisory role, he also oversees the business operations for charter school clients, in San Diego and Orange County. Prior to leading ExED's San Diego office, Mr. Tamayo was the School Development Coordinator and a Compliance Analyst in ExED's Los Angeles office. He previously worked as a program coordinator at the Atlantic Community Economic Development Corporation in Long Beach. Larry holds a master's degree in public policy from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in criminology, law and society at the University of California, Irvine.


Heather McManus Heather McManus

Heather McManus is currently in her ninth year as a leader of the Kayne Siart Campus. As principal, Heather has supported the school in growing over 100 API points to an API of 866. Under her leadership, the school has earned awards such as the EPIC Gold Award for math achievement, California Distinguished School Award, and the Title I Academic Achievement Awards. Heather was born and raised in Michigan and as earned degrees from the University of Michigan and California State University at Northridge. Heather is currently pursuing an Educational Doctorate in Social Justice Leadership for Loyola Marymount University.Heather McManus is currently in her ninth year as a leader of the Kayne Siart Campus.
